I have a Mac (OS 10.5.8) that we joined to the network (Windows/AD) awhile ago. The user had some problems with printing, basically because it was using a generic print driver to print to our networked printer. I updated the driver and got all the functionality working with no problems. However, everytime the user tries to print, the job gets held because of authentication issues.

If she enters in her domain username and password, it prints fine, but it is asking for it for every print job even when we have ticked 'remember in keychain'. I know this is old, but I had some luck with this. Our environment is a school environment with two active directory domains and a print server. Our macs are a mix of 10.8, 10.9, and 10.10, all of them on the Domain. Students had problems with printing, they would log in with their AD credentials fine, and when they tried to print it would prompt them for their credentials again. Not only that, but it would fill in their common name instead of their username which confused them. All I tried to fix the issue was to add an explicit permission for 'domain users' of the particular domain in question.

So for the students I just added the built in group 'domain users' as having 'print' permissions to that printer on the print server. After a reboot of the OSX devices they now print without prompting for credentials. I suspect any group that all the users fit into would work, it just seems OSX has a hard time with the 'everyone' permission. Give it a shot.
